"I offer compassionate and personalised Humanist Funeral Celebrant services in Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire"    Anne

"I am here to guide and support you in crafting something truly meaningful, to achieve the right balance of reflection and celebration, honouring a life lived, while providing comfort and support to loved ones"    Anne

A Unique Ceremony

"My aim is to create a Ceremony which is unique and crafted to celebrate the life of the individual.

I work closely with families, from our first conversation, to the end of the Ceremony. I will take the time to meet with you, listen to your stories, and learn about your loved one.

I always ensure open lines of communication, so you’ll never feel out of touch during the planning process"    Anne

"You will receive a Presentation copy of the Ceremony, individually designed and produced in a folder, and on high quality paper. It can also be shared digitally"

A Life Story

"I've always loved a story. As a Nurse, listening has been a massive part of my work, as I gather information to create a written personal history.

Life Story work is important when I'm working people with Dementia, and their families. A life story can act as a ‘fact file’ about the person, such as their background, interests, and who and what is important to them and bring them comfort by reminding them of special memories and other things that are important to them.

Cherished items, belongings, 'a certificate', photographs, letters, postcards, images of places they've lived, worked and loved:  the list is as endless, as it is meaningful"    Anne

"In consolidation, my aim is to create something unique,
creative and beautiful to say farewell at this important part
in someone's life;  to capture poignant video and photographic images

building a life story of your loved one to treasure.

Filmed and professionally edited, presented via digital file or USB"

More people are opting for direct cremation.

Holding a memorial ceremony or celebration of life after a direct cremation can allow you to plan an occasion which might be more personal and meaningful than a traditional funeral

At a memorial ceremony or a celebration of life, there is no coffin present

A memorial ceremony can take place at any time and anywhere

There is no set length or structure for a memorial ceremony

A humanist memorial ceremony focuses on celebrating the person’s life

Ashes scattering

In the UK, most funerals are cremations, rather than burials, with a funeral ceremony held in a crematorium. However, it is possible to hold a scattering of ashes ceremony at a later date, as well as, or instead of, a funeral.

Preparing Ahead

"I'm privileged to be able to support people living with a life limiting prognosis who wish to plan their funeral. Health and energy levels can be difficult and challenging, I understand, and I'm happy to work with you to prepare a service that is exactly what you want, for the day.

Together, we can create the right ceremony to reflect a unique life.

Let me help you, if I can"    Anne

Humanists UK Funeral Tribute Archive

A unique collection of humanist funeral tributes

Because every human life is unique. And every humanist funeral is too.

Anyone who owns a tribute or script from a humanist funeral conducted by a Humanists UK celebrant can add their loved one’s tribute to the Archive.

As humanists, we focus on shaping our own lives in the here and now because we believe it’s the only life we have. When we die, we live on mainly in the memories of others.

These memories and stories come to the fore at a humanist funeral, painting a vivid picture of the life of the person who has died.

By donating copies of your humanist funeral tributes to the archive, you can help those vivid memories of your loved ones to live on forever.
